3 or 4 year full scholarships in India for Financially constrained Zoroastrian Undergraduates

My friend, Farrokh Billimoria, has endowed a scholarship in India for underprivileged Parsi youth looking to get a college education. This endowment will award 4 year scholarships to students who have no means of paying for their education.

Students applying to Engineering, Medical, Law or Pharmacy colleges are eligible for the scholarship. The two main criteria are

(i) they have to be admitted to a college to be considered

(ii) family income should be Rs. 2.5 lakhs or less per year

This scholarship will be managed by Foundation for Excellence (FFE), which has awarded over 70,000 scholarships over the last two decades and have a proven process for screening and selecting candidates. This scholarship is set up in perpetuity.

Below is the information for applying

  1. All candidates should apply online at FFE Site at www.ffe.org. The window to apply will only open on Sept 1 2021and will be open until December 31, 2021.
  2. They should send an email to scholarships@ffe.org indicating that they are planning to apply for “Naju and Keki Billimoria Scholarship” and provide their Name in full along with contact information (Email and Tel. no). . It is a named scholarship and that’s how FFE have it.
  3. In addition, applicants are encouraged to also follow up with a call to 88615 01155 / 080 2520 1925 to indicate that they are applying for this “Billimoria Scholars” scholarship
  4. These scholarships are for India candidates only.

Items 2 and 3 above are so that FFE will try and match them to a local FFE person to help them through the whole process.

Also, if there is a Parsi in Gujarat or any of the local moffusil area of the applicants, we can put them in touch with FFE and FFE will ‘train’ them so that they can help the candidate.

We need help in trying to get the word out to under privileged Parsi students and their families. We thought it would be wonderful if you could write an article on this and publicize this or send it to Parsi Orphanages. Kindly acknowledge this email. Thanks.
